The Learning Hive - Supporting Our Children

A space for focused learning, gentle support, and individual growth for all children.

What happens in The Learning Hive?

The space is set up daily for:

  • Focused adult-led activities

  • Small group work to strengthen key areas of development

  • Individual support sessions for children who may need extra time or guidance

Whether it’s building fine motor skills, supporting speech and language, developing concentration, or helping a child navigate their emotions — the Learning Hive provides a peaceful and purposeful setting to support it all.

The Learning Hive is also a valuable space for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

It includes:

  • A calm and structured environment

  • Workstations for visual schedules or 1:1 learning

  • A range of SEN-specific resources to meet children’s individual developmental goals

Here, children are given the space and support they need to build confidence, connect, and thrive — at their own pace.

Our SEN Team:

  • Our qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) leads our inclusive approach and supports the team to identify and meet individual needs.

  • The SENCO works closely with each child’s key person and family to create a shared plan for support, development, and progress.

  • We are proud of our strong working relationship with Walsall’s Local Authority SEN Team, ensuring timely access to professional advice, funding applications, and specialist guidance.
